Hi David,

In case you haven't already found the solution right click on Excel 2013 (or any other Office 2013 application) and select 'Run as Administrator' then follow the steps to activate online

Regards

Mark

More parroted generic process steps posted by someone who is supposed to actually know about Microsoft products. And it takes end users to figure it out and then post the correct fix here. I guess competency is over-rated at Microsoft. Thank you for the correct answer Mark.

    Hello Mark,

I'm wondering if you could help me. I'm having the same problem with the same error code as listed above. I tried to follow your solution, but when I right click on any of the programs I am not given the option to 'run as administrator'. I also read the instructors from the Microsoft guy on here and it sounds so complicated. Any simple thoughts for someone like me who is not a techie. Thanks,

    Maureen

For anyone that does not see the option for "Run as Administrator" you may be right clicking on the shortcut, and not the actual file.  If you go to the folder that contains office on the hard drive, inside of Microsoft Office / office15 / find "winword" ( The word program ) and right click on it.
