Cannot play video from YouTube through PowerPoint 2013

Just tried to "insert" a video from YouTube using two methods: by pasting the "old embed code" and through the YouTube app. When I try to play the video I receive the following error, "To play the selected item, you must install a later version of the Adobe Flash Player. To download the Adobe Flash Player, go to the Adobe website."

The thing is, I have the latest version of flash installed (11.6.602.180). I am running Windows 8 (64-bit). Does anyone else have this problem? Or is it just me?

We have been hard at work to bring back support for YouTube videos to PowerPoint. We are happy to share that we are now bringing back support for inserting and playing back YouTube videos in PowerPoint 2010 and PowerPoint 2013 with the latest updates.

    This alteration of the URL, from the phrase watch?v= to v/, was not sufficient to allow the YouTube video to be embedded / played, with the user still receiving the "Sorry we can not play this media format." error.

      His system is running the Microsoft Office 2013 Suite 2013 (15.0.4859.1000)

    Heather ,  thanks    I did get the insert to work -- still figuring now how to get videos to play auto when slide is open    (  ie slide show)    etc

    I installed both these updates for my 2013 32-bit version (I checked first which version I had), and now I can put in video intro stills, but even after I try starting it automatically or by click, they don't play!
