Unable to open Word 2013 Error: Word has stopped Working.

Original Title: $140 for ****!

I have purchased Office Home & Student 2013 and it installed perfectly fine. Yet, when I go to Word and try open a blank document out pops a box stating Microsoft Word has stopped working and I will be notified IF there is a fix. WTH! I cannot use the dang program. PLEASE help!!

Hi,

I had compatibility problems with this and several other programs.

I removed Abbyy Finereader and it worked!!!

Finally

What I don't understand is why Microsoft have brought out 8.1 so soon (or why at all!!) when there are so many people having problems with software they have previously spent loads of money on and who also have numerous files that won't work.
