Unable to open Word 2013 Error: Word has stopped Working.

Original Title: $140 for ****!

I have purchased Office Home & Student 2013 and it installed perfectly fine. Yet, when I go to Word and try open a blank document out pops a box stating Microsoft Word has stopped working and I will be notified IF there is a fix. WTH! I cannot use the dang program. PLEASE help!!

    Thank you Robin!  I deleted ABBY finereader and now the word works.  This has taken me 2 days as I am not a techie!  After installing Epson 350 printer my word2013 stopped working, I tried to uninstal Epson but still a problem. 

    Do you know what printer will be compatible with word 365 and windows 8, which will not have this ABBY file?

    Thanks Robin. I have Windows 8 and pulled my hair out for 2 or 3 days!!Trying to Run Office (recently purchased). I deleted ABBVY. Reader but still encountered the same problems when opening Office.

    So I decided to do a computer system refresh. which solved the problem. The refresh deleted my Epson printer program, but when I then re-installed my printer program, the problem returned!! So it was obvious a problem with the Epson Program which had installed ABBVY.Reader. I then deleted ABBVY.Reader and Office now works perfectly! Just thought I would pass on for future reference.

    Thank you Thank you Thank you!!  I've been hours trying to work out what was wrong.  Uninstalled Abbyy Finereader and it solved the problem.  You are a genius!

    I still can't even click on "OPTIONS".

    Every time I click on it, it says "Microsoft Word has stopped working".

    How come??????

    What am I supposed to do now. I've got plenty of important documents!!!! And I need them now.

    Please help me.

    Have you started Word in Safe Mode by holding down the CTRL key while you start it?
