How to expand text boundaries in Word 2013?

Isn't that essentially the same as "maintaining compatability with 2010"? This will not work for documents that were created by another user in 2013.

After spending hours trying to find a solution to the problem of the vanished Text Boundaries in Word 2013, I finally came across the built-in option shown below.  

This will display all boundaries, which means the boundaries between paragraphs as well as the boundary around the outside of the page, but if like me, you relied on having the Text Boundaries visible while you work, this is better than nothing (which is what I thought I had with Word 2013).  

Admittedly it does take a little adjustment to get used to all those lines, but I think it's far easier to work with than turning on the Grid feature or using the very limited "crop marks", and will keep you informed of your boundaries.  It's probably also a much better idea than trying to mess around with the Normal template, or do a workaround by attempting to save new documents in the old 93-2007 format.  

To turn on Text Boundaries, with a Word 2013 document open: 

1.  Click on the FILE tab (upper left - blue tab)
2.  Click on "Options" - bottom left 
3.  Select "Advanced" -- this is the 6th choice in the list and will open a long screen
4.  Scroll down the Advanced option screen until you find "Show Document Content".  Toggle the box on where it says "Show Text Boundaries"  (a check-mark will appear).  Click on 'OK' to save changes.  

When you return to your document, you'll see the paragraph and page text boundaries displayed.  You will also see the old style page text boundary on previous Word documents you open in Word 2013.  

Not as elegant as the previous look, but it is there!  You just have to know how far down into the options to find it.  Hope this helps.  I for one would seriously miss this feature if it weren't available at all.  Obviously the designers who said it was no longer available in Word 2013 were either mistaken, or it's been added since the original posts on this subject.

No one here is suffering "the problem of the vanished Text Boundaries in Word 2013." The problem is that the text boundaries in Word 2013 don't work the same way as in previous versions. Everybody here knows how to turn them on; most people prefer to turn them off. The only way to get the old-style boundaries is to save in an older format.

This is not the solution! This has always been available.  Way too many lines and boxes to attempt to figure out.

Microsoft needs to do better.
