How to expand text boundaries in Word 2013?

Hello everyone!,

I was convinced by someone here to install office 2013, so I tried it today. But the first issue i meet is the "text boundaries".

In office 2010 and previous versions. When I open a blank page, I can see the text boundary is around page (reach the margin that I set up manually.)

But in Word 2013, the text boundary is only around the first line. and it expand continuously as I type (line by line).

So, what I can do to make the default boundary display like in previous Office versions?

oh yea, I got another problem, LOL,

I am trying to save the picture and upload, but when i click Save as in Paint, Snipping tool.. the app immediately crash LOL :))

Okay, I will add photo later (in case you are not fully understand my expression).

anyway, although my english is not really well, please help me. :)

Unfortunately, that is the default view of text boundaries in Word 2013 (and cannot be changed AFAIK), which is one reason I will not be using Word 2013, as I refuse to either deal with that display or try to operate without text boundaries displayed. This is another instance of Word designers not understanding how people in the real world use Word.

    Hi, everyone.

    I can share a trick with you.

    You can temporarily kind of enable text boundaries the old way: you can place page borders around the text.

    It's in Design tab, last icon to the right.

    Choose border settings, add style, and look in the options for a "measure from" drop-down.

    If you choose "Text" in "measure from" drop-down, and then press all of the OKs out there, you will have something like an old-styled text boundaries in MS Word-2013.

    Unfortunately, this border is going to stay, and will be printed when you print or export to PDF.

    So if you don't want it in the final document, you have to disable border before your final save.

    Hope this will help some of you out there.

    Hi there, I have some problem too...

    But I just think that Microsoft choose to change this method of Text Boundaries to be like a mess to me.. May be Microsoft think that Crop Marks and Older style of Text Boundaries have been like just the same.. so they change it...

    So here what I do to help me work with Ms Word 2013

    I'm using Crop Marks to help with Page boundaries and Turn ON View Gridlines on Layout Tab below Table Tools, to help me work with Table.

    So I guess it should be enough for me at this moment.
