Hi Michael,

My problem was solved after restarting/starting SOFTWARE PROTECTION service in windows 8, that service was stopped and its behaviour was Automatic(Delayed Start). So i just start that service and error gone. YOu try this as well.

Thanks for your reply. I tried this and a host of other suggestions. Nothing really worked. Then, one day, I tried to launch the application, and it finally worked! I have no idea of what cured the problem, but perhaps it was one of the required system updates for Windows 10. Anyway, the problem is resolved.

Did you manually restart 'software protection' (under services)?

All my issues resolved by doing that. I kept getting an unlicensed product status (not true) and Microsoft cannot find license errors and a ? where my product information should have been until I manually started software protection. Seems to be a Windows 10 error as it started after one of the major updates.
