Hi Michael,

My problem was solved after restarting/starting SOFTWARE PROTECTION service in windows 8, that service was stopped and its behaviour was Automatic(Delayed Start). So i just start that service and error gone. YOu try this as well.

    Hi All,

I have just taken my Windows RT out of the box and get exactly the same message when starting office.

any help would be appreciated, not a good start with my new toy.

    Michael

    Bring up Services.

    Scroll down to Software Protection

Click on "Start  the service" (for software protection)

    Restart Office

I have to do this nearly every time I  use Office

I tried this method but whenever I right click on SOFTWARE PROTECTION all the start and stop services are disabled.

Can you please help me out with this and provide another solution.

Hello MaxineAllman1 you can try contacting Microsoft directly about your expiring Office product.  You can also try running a program like Belarc Adviser that should show you the product keys for your various products.. Ultimately a receipt for what you purchased would be best.
