Hi Michael,

My problem was solved after restarting/starting SOFTWARE PROTECTION service in windows 8, that service was stopped and its behaviour was Automatic(Delayed Start). So i just start that service and error gone. YOu try this as well.

Hi I'm getting the same error message: "Microsoft office can't find your license for this application. a repair attempt was unsuccessful or was cancelled. Microsoft Office will now exit"

I have just updated to windows 10 and have not used any Microsoft Office applications for some time before I did the update. I never had this issue before the update but I also had not used Office for a few months...

I tried turning on the SOFTWARE PROTECTION service but it didn't work for me. I would uninstall windows but I have misplaced my installation disc and I don't want to totally lose Office...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just wanted to say that I found this forum having had the same problem myself and when I opened up Software Protection as described above it said that it had stopped. I am not sure how it restarted - but it did and when it said Software Protecttion was running instead of stopped I no longer had the problem with the microsoft apps - so this was definitely the cause but how it resolved itself I have no idea!
