Microsoft office can't find your license for this application. a repair attempt was unsuccessful or was cancelled.

Hi Hasan, I have this same problem, and i tried looking for the software protection service but couldn't fin it. Could you explain to me step by steo how to do that?

I am having the same problem, though I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, and not Windows 8 or 10, which most of the comments refer to.  How do I deal with this. Is it a problem with the software, is it a virus, or is it connected with my months' long and unsuccessful attempt to get Outlook 365 to work (even though I am paying for it!)

My problem was solved after restarting/starting SOFTWARE PROTECTION service in windows 8, that service was stopped and its behaviour was Automatic(Delayed Start). So i just start that service and error gone. YOu try this as well.

I am on Windows 10 and for the first time got this error message.  I can open files but not create new ones in both Word and Publisher.  Does this apply to me also?  And when you say software protection, do you mean MSDefender?  Or third party like SpyHunter?  Or both?

thank you Raju.  Here is my issue:

Every time i open the properties box i find service status marked as Stopped.  Also, the startup type is grayed out, but says Automatic (Delayed Start) and i can't change it.  So i click Start in Service Status and OK (since the Apply is also grayed out).  i guess Software Protection will stay running as long as i do not open the Properties box, yes/no??  Also, is Delayed Start good enough (since i am not sure what that means)???
