"Microsoft Word has stopped working" when I close the program

I installed Office 2013. 

All programs launch and work OK.

When I close Excel and Word, I get a message that "Microsoft Word has stopped working."

Word then looks for a solution.

Sometimes it restarts, sometimes it shuts down.

Outlook sometimes shuts down while open.

I then get a message that "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working,"

Outlook then looks for a solution.

Sometimes it restarts, sometimes it shuts down.

I have disabled all add ons. I have uninstalled and re-installed 2013.

What do I try next?

I called Microsoft technical support (800-642-7676).

The friendly technician tracked the problem to a conflict with a NVIDIA driver from my video card.

The offending driver was: NVWGF2UM.DLL

The technician renamed it: NVWGF2UM.old

She left everything else the same.

I am still using the PNY NVIDIA GeForce 210 Graphic Card in Windows 7 pro and I am having no problem with any program in the Office 2013 suite.

She found the problem driver in the event log.

But do not install any future video card driver updates. The offending driver will be reinstalled.

    Dear friend:

    I had the same problem and i solve it  updating  the drives of  graphic card , it is described if 

    the graphic card is NVidea like mine . 

    It could be too incompatibility with  print drives or  follow this entry:

     "Word 2013 Click File>Options>Advanced>(Scroll down to Print options) and deselect the second option [Print in background].

    Some printer drivers do not allow background printing.

    Please note that you ALSO have to do this in MS PowerPoint.

    I couldn't find this option in Excel, Access, Publisher, InfoPath, or OneNote. Maybe these MS Office programs will take their main options from Word."

    Thanks for the reply. I will try that. I do property profile documents that are about 8 pages that include a couple with copied PDF floor plans and several with inserted photos shouldn't be very intensive. I literally can't work without a program like office. It is the  main use of my computers. Thanks again

    I had the same problem and called support: I called Microsoft technical support (800-642-7676). They were extremely helpful.  I told the agent that I thought it was the NVIDIA driver, since I'd checked here first.

    Turns out it was one of the "Add Ons".  The agent disabled it and everything is working fine now.
