"Microsoft Word has stopped working" when I close the program

I installed Office 2013. 

All programs launch and work OK.

When I close Excel and Word, I get a message that "Microsoft Word has stopped working."

Word then looks for a solution.

Sometimes it restarts, sometimes it shuts down.

Outlook sometimes shuts down while open.

I then get a message that "Microsoft Outlook has stopped working,"

Outlook then looks for a solution.

Sometimes it restarts, sometimes it shuts down.

I have disabled all add ons. I have uninstalled and re-installed 2013.

What do I try next?

I called Microsoft technical support (800-642-7676).

The friendly technician tracked the problem to a conflict with a NVIDIA driver from my video card.

The offending driver was: NVWGF2UM.DLL

The technician renamed it: NVWGF2UM.old

She left everything else the same.

I am still using the PNY NVIDIA GeForce 210 Graphic Card in Windows 7 pro and I am having no problem with any program in the Office 2013 suite.

She found the problem driver in the event log.

But do not install any future video card driver updates. The offending driver will be reinstalled.

    You just have to stop and wonder what kind of company puts out software to their customers that has been known for over a year to have major defects. What do you think would happen if a pharma house knowing kept selling products that were harmful. Sure, nobody's dying here, but the principle's the same. Lexmark and Epson should be ashamed. But apparently don't care.

    The same thing happens with Lexmark printers. I just installed Windows 8 and Office 2013. The Office products would shut down immediately when clicking to start the program. After these posts I backed out and deleted the ABBY fine printer. Now everything works and I I can access my spreadsheets I had for my business. So thanks for the help.

    I have the same problem. Running a search for NVWGF2UM.dll on my C: drive returns multiple copies.

    My hunch is that I should rename the copy located in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64": I am right?

    With the same question.

    Later I tried the way as shyamsinghbisht said:

    And I disabled my NVIDIA NVS 5200M display adapter.

    However, the problem for me is that I need to do 3D drawing from time to time. I guess I need to frequently turn on/off my display adapter. Also it is no possible to use graphic software and Word at the same time. Any better solutions to this problem???

    hello..

    I had almost the same problem and i solve it miraculously updating the drives

    of the graphic card.

     My graphic is an NVIDIA GForce I dont know if is your case, but is described that an older driver

    cause this whit Office 2013.
