Download the MergeTools – 20120609 Add-in that I created from the following page of my Windows Live SkyDrive:

https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=5aedcb43615e886b#cid=5AEDCB43615E886B&id=5AEDCB43615E886B%21111

and also the Mail Merging with Charts document that is also on that page.  That document explains how you must set up the Excel Data Source and the Mail Merge Main document to be able to execute a merge with a Chart that is unique to each record in the data source.

    Hi Doug,

One of our IT staff members assisted me with getting this to open on my startup menu in word.  I opened my word letter merge document and clicked on the Chart Merge icon.  I got an error #1004 Application-defined or object-defined error.

Is this common?  I created my data following the instructions.  I was prompted to identify a destination for the files and when I clicked continue, that's when the error came up.

I know that this is going to be incredible once I can work out my issues on this end.  I'm very excited to use it.  Thanks for creating it!

    Karen

Very clear instructions that showed me exactly what I wanted to achieve. When I did the merge however, the pdfs created had multiple versions of the chart. For example employee 1 had the first chart only, employee 2 had the first and second chart etc. Employee 20 had all 20 charts in the pdf :) What am I doing wrong?

Thanks again for doing this work and sharing with us for free.

Please ignore my question. I saw an earlier post with this exact same issue. I selected the cell and bookmarked it rather than just where the cursor was. Worked like a dream. I am going to use it to inform my students of their test score data through the year and which topics they need to emphasize in the end of year exam. Thanks again.
