Mail Merge with Excel Charts

HI,

I need to execute mail merge with excel charts, there are 100+ records in excel.

Based on certain data field i need to create a pie chart.

Using mail merge i am expected to have different pie chart for each record

Is their any way to create this functionality in office 2010 ???

Download the MergeTools – 20120609 Add-in that I created from the following page of my Windows Live SkyDrive:

and also the Mail Merging with Charts document that is also on that page.  That document explains how you must set up the Excel Data Source and the Mail Merge Main document to be able to execute a merge with a Chart that is unique to each record in the data source.

    Hi Doug,

    One of our IT staff members assisted me with getting this to open on my startup menu in word.  I opened my word letter merge document and clicked on the Chart Merge icon.  I got an error #1004 Application-defined or object-defined error. 

    Is this common?  I created my data following the instructions.  I was prompted to identify a destination for the files and when I clicked continue, that's when the error came up.

    I know that this is going to be incredible once I can work out my issues on this end.  I'm very excited to use it.  Thanks for creating it!

    This:

    "The next help suggestion is to copy the macro from one template to another via the Organizer utility at the bottom of the Templates and Add Ins dialog box."

    does not make any sense in relation to my Merge Tools Add-in.

    Please answer the question that I asked:

    Under File>Options>Advanced>General>File Locations, what is shown for the location of Startup?

    You may need to click on the Modify... button see the full path.

    You must save the MergeTools - 20140218.dotm file in that location.

    In the File Locations dialog referred to above, when you select Startup, the following note will appear at the bottom of the dialog:

    "The default location (for the Startup folder) is treated as a trusted source for opening files.  If you change a location, make sure that the location is secure."

    If you have not changed the location, you will not get a message about macros not being found or disabled.

    You must not create your merge document in the MergeTools add-in as you said that you have done.
