Download the MergeTools – 20120609 Add-in that I created from the following page of my Windows Live SkyDrive:

https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=5aedcb43615e886b#cid=5AEDCB43615E886B&id=5AEDCB43615E886B%21111

and also the Mail Merging with Charts document that is also on that page.  That document explains how you must set up the Excel Data Source and the Mail Merge Main document to be able to execute a merge with a Chart that is unique to each record in the data source.

    Thank you, Doug.

And for other readers, the tool he has created works very well.  I am able to generate an individually named PDF report for each person who has taken the assessment which merges canned text, text specific to the assessment pulled from the excel sheet and include the graph.

However, you are correct, I have not been able to figure out a way to trigger the report generation automatically when someone responds to the excel survey invitation, so I still have to manually intervene.

    Thanks again, Doug.

    Hi Doug,

Your add-on seems to be exactly what I need, but is it meant to work with word/excel for mac?  I was able to download and open the .dotm file, but the ribbon looks like this:

    ![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=cef8087c-7eb7-4e58-883d-1248aadd67dc)

And when I click on any of the icons (including the ones with complete images) I get the following error message:

    ![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=b0c850db-b1c1-4a84-97d6-dfd14244ea26)

    Thanks for your advice!

Neither mail merge, nor my Merge Tools utilities are really designed for the production of individual documents (though if the data source only contains one record, then one document is all that will be produced)

The issue in your case however is going to be what triggers, or how is something triggered by someone posting a response to the spreadsheet.

By "the Excel Online spreadsheet" to you mean the Excel Online application?
