Download the MergeTools – 20120609 Add-in that I created from the following page of my Windows Live SkyDrive:

https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=5aedcb43615e886b#cid=5AEDCB43615E886B&id=5AEDCB43615E886B%21111

and also the Mail Merging with Charts document that is also on that page.  That document explains how you must set up the Excel Data Source and the Mail Merge Main document to be able to execute a merge with a Chart that is unique to each record in the data source.

Doug, the tool is working very well for me.  Thanks for putting this together.

Is there a way to include commas in the data that accompanies the chart?  When working with 5, 6 and 7+ digit numbers, it looks bad for there to not be commas.  In my mail merge document I have a grid that contains merge fields and also the pie chart that the Merge Tools add-in is creating.

For the formatting issue, you need to apply the appropriate formatting switches to the mergefields in the mail merge main document.

The multiple charts in all but the first document are caused by the Chart bookmark not being defined correctly in the mail merge main document.  When inserting that bookmark, you must select the cell of the table as shown below:
