Mail Merge with Excel Charts

HI,

I need to execute mail merge with excel charts, there are 100+ records in excel.

Based on certain data field i need to create a pie chart.

Using mail merge i am expected to have different pie chart for each record

Is their any way to create this functionality in office 2010 ???

Download the MergeTools – 20120609 Add-in that I created from the following page of my Windows Live SkyDrive:

and also the Mail Merging with Charts document that is also on that page.  That document explains how you must set up the Excel Data Source and the Mail Merge Main document to be able to execute a merge with a Chart that is unique to each record in the data source.

    Hi Doug,

    Thanks again.

    Not sure my question was clear. The mailmerge works fine with just the DOB reference, as the spreadsheet has been linked already.

    When I scroll through 'Preview results' it does show the date in the correct format e.g. 8th January 1987.

    My issue is that when it comes to a date like 3rd, the ordinal remains as th..

    I have counted the parentheses and the braces, and they all add up.

    Pictures to illustrate below, and any help is much appreciated.

    Hi Doug,

    Thanks for your response - I've had a look at the website and am currently in the process of formatting as per their instructions.

    After taking a look I decided to go with the date format that includes the Ordinal st,th,rd etc. for each date.

    UPDATE:

    I have got the ordinal 'th' showing, however when I flick through the preview results, even when it comes to a date like the 3rd, it shows as 3th.. 21th etc.

    Would you be able to take a look at the attached picture and let me know where I may be going wrong?

    This is my first experience tampering with the field codes, so am not sure what to look for..

    Assuming that you are using mail merge, almost certainly DOB should be MERGEFIELD DOB.

    You did not have the cell selected when you inserted the Chart bookmark.  As a result, if you turn on the display of bookmarks, the bookmark in your document will look like | rather than [], which is how it must look.

    Doug, thanks for your help with this tool.  It works almost perfectly for me.  The problem I'm running into is that when I merge the documents, the 2nd document has the 1st and 2nd charts on it.  The 3rd letter has the 1st, 2nd and 3rd charts on it, etc.

    Do you know what I need to do to correct this so that there is only 1 chart per letter?
