How do I email a .pdf attachment through a mail merge Word & Outlook 2010

We email out group interest letters, the merge letter is created in Word 2010 and than email through mail merge Outlook 2010. We attached a .pdf flyer to each email. (at this time we are email one at a time.)

Is there a way to attach a .pdf file to an email blast (mail merge)? We are running XP right now but will be changing to Windows 7 with in the coming weeks.

Any help we could get on this would be great. Everything I have been able to pull off the internet is on earlier visions of Microsoft Office and Windows.

I have looked at this but this is for earlier versions of Microsoft Office. I need something that will work with Office 2010, but thank you! 

While the method to which Gordon gave you the link will work with any version of Word from Word 97 onwards, I have developed a much simpler method that you can use if you download the MergeTools – 20120225 Add-in that I created from the following page of my OneDrive:

The mergetools template must be saved in the Word Startup folder.

    Why can't I download the file.  All that is there is a pdf explanation.  What am I doing wrong!!??

    I have now downloaded, thank you.  However when I click Merge with Attachments I get "The macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your Macro security settings".  I have gone through previous posts and made sure that my macros are enabled, the Trusted Location is C:...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\Startup and Disable all Trusted Locations is not selected.  Is there there somewhere or something else that I've missed?

    If you go to the Developer tab and then click on the Document Template in the Templates section of the dialog, do you see the MergeTools - 20150422.dotm file there, with that file extension?
