This is how I solved the problem:

Go to File, Options, Proofing and click on Custom Dictionaries. Then pick the dictionary language. Then you will see your language in the list with a checked box next to it.  Remove the check and check it again. Then click OK and OK. And hopefully your problem will be solved.

This worked for me, I hope works for you too.

Guruprasad Ra has suggested repairing Office, which is the step most likely to solve your problem, and has provided a link to an article that will tell you how to do this. Or you can follow these instructions:

    • Click the (Windows) Start button, then click Control Panel.
    • Open the Programs and Features control panel.
    • Select your version of Microsoft Office 2010.
    • Click Change near the top of the window.
    • Wait while the window is loading, then click Repair.
    • Click Continue and follow the instructions.

    Please be aware that:

    1. You are posting in an old thread to which the OP never returned. As far as we know, the replies did provide the solution the OP was looking for.
    2. Those who post here are, for the most part, not Microsoft employees but other users who voluntarily share their knowledge and experience.
    3. This service is provided free and in some cases is worth only what you pay for it. Your license does not promise free support except for a limited time or for installation issues. Further support is available for a fee.

Please note, this respones does not:

    1. Answer or sovle my problem
    2. Give me any help on where to go to get help.
    3. Surely, I am due for some help from Microsoft, having only bought these products a few months ago. One would think Microsoft would sell working software or are we still in the days of 'it's marketable and we'll fix it when enough people complain'.

Reminds me of the Vista experience. MS can't afford to be this complacent. Already we have as many Apple devices in our house as we do PCs.

Please tell me how to solve this problem or tell me where to go to get an answer.
