Here is another way.

1.  In the pages program on your mac, click on File, then Export to followed by Word

2.  On the Word” tab. Click on “Advanced Options" and on the format bar, click on .docx (if using any word version 2007 to present, or .doc if earlier version.

3.  On Save as, give the file a name, and location (desktop or flash drive) and click on export.

You can now take that file to any PC that has Word and open.

I have used the ZIP method successfully many times in the past, but it only works with files that have been saved with a QuickLook preview, and more and more I find files that have not been. This morning I tried the Pages iCloud app for the first time, and it is working beautifully. I need to read comments already in the file and add my own, and that works exactly as I would expect.

As someone else has said, you need an Apple ID, and I had to upgrade to iCloud drive, which I had been putting off because I still have an iPad on OS8, but after that, I just dragged the file to Pages, and it opened. It's so much nicer for commenting than a PDF would have been. I am very pleased.

I am trying to open a PAGES document which was converted to a PDF by another person.  I am trying to open and EDIT the document to send back to him with changes.  I am able to open it but only for reviewing.  I need to EDIT.  How do I do this?  I am running Windows 8.  I've tried opening to edit in Adobe and WordPerfect X7 and neither will allow me to make changes.

Hands down this is the BEST ANSWER because this is how to do it properly! It's equivalent to Pages having a "Save As" option for saving it as a Word (DOCX) file.
