Here is another way.

1.  In the pages program on your mac, click on File, then Export to followed by Word

2.  On the Word” tab. Click on “Advanced Options" and on the format bar, click on .docx (if using any word version 2007 to present, or .doc if earlier version.

3.  On Save as, give the file a name, and location (desktop or flash drive) and click on export.

You can now take that file to any PC that has Word and open.

    Thank you.

I receive a lot of pages documents on my PC however, my original issue was changing pages to word on a PC, however I don't think there is a way to do it without a mac!

    Thanks anyway

I didn't quite make myself clear in my previous Reply.

You should have Apple Pages on your Mac it usually comes as part of the Operating System (OS).

Open the Pages Document in Pages.

    Then look for Export.

    Choose Word Document.  (.docx)

The extension will switch from "Document (or whatever named).pages" to "Document.docx."

Thank you, but this still did not work.

When opening the pages document I get this:

So I am unable to open the document to then use export. I've tried compressing and extracting the file but I'm still unable to convert during extraction. Any other ideas? Is there a Microsoft programme that can read and convert pages to word?

    Thanks again

    Charlie

    Hi Deven,

I'm unable to edit the file extension when attempting to rename the file:

I've tried looking in properties but the file extension is not editable. Would love to be able to use your method, but unable without the file extension as part of the file name! Thanks for any help. Charlie

Deven (marked answer) guess was based on his experience on a Windows machine. Windows and the Mac OS work totally different. On the outside chance, you using an older version of Pages that came out for while for PC, Pages still works differently.

    1. From File menu or Edit menu look for Export.
    2. Click on Export, a window will appear.
    3. Choose Microsoft Word (.docx).
    4. There is also Microsoft Word 97-2008 (.doc) you don't want use this unless you intend to use only on a computer capable of using the .doc format.

When exported, for the most part, the document is already formatted correctly for Word. In fact, if you have entered URL Links when exported they will already be "Hot" (as in active/ clickable)  This is great to hear if you use a version of Word older than the most current subscription versions of 2016.
