Hi Deven,
I'm unable to edit the file extension when attempting to rename the file:
I've tried looking in properties but the file extension is not editable. Would love to be able to use your method, but unable without the file extension as part of the file name! Thanks for any help. Charlie
Deven (marked answer) guess was based on his experience on a Windows machine. Windows and the Mac OS work totally different. On the outside chance, you using an older version of Pages that came out for while for PC, Pages still works differently.
- From File menu or Edit menu look for Export.
- Click on Export, a window will appear.
- Choose Microsoft Word (.docx).
- There is also Microsoft Word 97-2008 (.doc) you don't want use this unless you intend to use only on a computer capable of using the
.doc format.
When exported, for the most part, the document is already formatted correctly for Word. In fact, if you have entered URL Links when exported they will already be "Hot" (as in active/ clickable) This is great to hear if you use a version of Word older than
the most current subscription versions of 2016.
