Comment balloons will not print. WORD 2010

I have not experienced it with another document and successfully printed this document with changes and balloons at an earlier stage.  Everything is set up properly as set out in the referenced material.  There is even a large blank right hand margin to accommodate the comments and i see them in print preview but they don't print.

 Did YOU ever get a solution to this problem?  If so please share...I was able to print a REVIEW document last week with comments in the margin in their balloons. 

This week, no matter what I do, I cannot get the comments to print. 

I can imagine the agony such problems can pose. I finally realised that the problem was with equipment in that there was some form of disconnect between the software and the hardware, either within my computer, and/or between my computer and the printer.

The way I get around it even now, is by re-booting my computer each time I face a situation where the comments in the side margin do not get printed. After re-booting, the document gets printed out with all the side comments.

I had earlier tried all possible means and tips as advised by other users.  Nothing worked.  Even a preview would show up all the side comments on the screen, but yet they do not get printed.  

The only way for me is to reboot, as explained above.

(However, I am here assuming that your computer is already duly set to print the comments etc.  If not, please ensure this is done. Unfortunately, I am not able to recall how this is done, but a google search will help you on this.  I guess you need to start by clicking on "File" etc.)

Comment balloons will not print.  I have a document that has insertions and deletiions in the text and comments in balloons in the right margin.  When I try to print it, the space is there in the right hand marginto accomidate the ballons but the balloons don't print.  They show up in the Word Print Preview.

Here's what works for me.  It is still annoying, but at least I can get the comments to print in the shaded area on the paper to match the print preview.  This works for me for printing to PDF, to a networked HP, and to a networked Xerox Mobile Express driver.  I hope it works for you, too.

1. Close Word.
2. Re-open Word.
3. Using Word (not Windows Explorer), open the document.
4. Print your file.  On the Print page, under Settings, click the button that holds the options like "Print all pages" and make sure that the "Print mark-up" is checked.

I've started doing a test run by printing 1 page to the printer "Adobe PDF", so I know the comment balloons are really printing. This keeps me from wasting paper and pricey color toner, and saves the interruption of a jog down the hall to the network printer.  Once I know the balloons are visible in the PDF, then I send the whole document to print on the network printer.

The last item 4. was the most important for me....In past I had only ever chosen/highlighted Print all pages...I had never clicked on the drop down arrow in the far right had of that box, so never knew that option was available to change.

Yes, my problem was the same as the original quesion using Word 2010.   But I kept trying all the different answers and eventually one of them worked but I didn't know why.  

Ultimately i'm sure the  most helpful, the definitive answer to this question/problem is to

1, File Tab, select Print All Pages,

2, If it is already highlighted as the choice, click on it again and the options expand,

3.at the bottom of the more expanded window that opens is an option Print Markup- and select it and then click the print button.

 Review balloons with comments and formatting, whatever I've chosen to show on the right hand margin then prints. I never before knew there was that option to Print Markups on the Print page
