I am trying to copy a long list of file names in file explorer and paste them into excel so I can keep track of file status, is there an easy way to do this?

"I have found a simple way of doing just this.

Download the excellent freeware program "Bulk Rename Utility", you can google for it.

    In BRU

1: Navigate to the directory containing all your files

2: Highlight all the files you want to export to text

3: Right Click the highlighted files in BRU and select "Clipboard Copy" drop down menu.

4: Select "Copy Filename" (with or without extension)

    5: Open Notepad

6: Right Click and Paste in Notepad.

You can then copy it from here to excel or word or whatever. Easy as that."
