How do I change the color of Strikethrough without changing the color of the text?

And nearly five years old.

Crossing something out electronically is a nonsense; period.

This is my favorite kind of "non-response:"  to assume that the poster has no reason for wanting to accomplish a certain goal, just because YOU don't understand their motives. 

I myself was searching for this exact question, because - - not that it matters - - I wanted to be able to SHOW the corrections in a legal document that were attributed to various editors.  In this case, the previous editor had changed something; hence, their comments were red.  However, I noticed that (for whatever reason, and I didn't care to ask) they had NOT actually made any changes, so MY edit was to cross out THEIR edit.  So - - and this is why I needed to know this - - MY edits are supposed to be in BLUE. So I needed THEIR text to be RED, and MY strikeout to be BLUE.

There's no accounting for the accounting/legal world, but this stuff must be followed for legal reasons.  And what's "ridiculous" is to tell me that I have to go through hard copy printouts of these document and laboriously strike through them with blue ink, because you happen to think (erroneously, as it turns out) that "crossing something out electronically is a nonsense; period."

In future, let's just assume that the poster is NOT an idiot who's trying to waste your time.  If you don't want to help him or her, then don't.  You don't need to question their methods or motives.  I've searched through tons of questions on various subjects online, and wading through a myriad of answers that contain NOTHING more constructive than "Why would you want to do that?" or "That ridiculous to want to do that" gets really old sometimes….

Also, keep in mind that posters in this forum are volunteers, and none of us can change how Word works.

While I FULLY appreciate (and I sincerely mean that) volunteers giving freely of their time to answer questions and help a fellow sojourner for truth in their path to enlightenment, my gripe was about people who have nothing productive to add to an asker's desperate plea for help. If I'm at work and my job depends on figuring out how to accomplish something with hardware or software that I'm using, I can live without wading through 5 pages of "non-information."

This has been my major peeve with the Internet since i started using it 100 years ago.

Frankly, I would love to see the following stricken from use:

1. Why do you want to do that?
2. It makes no sense at all for anyone to do that.
3. Yep, my computer's doing that too!  Any solutions?
4. I know you want to use the program you just spend an arm and a leg for and not have to spend anything else, but you should download this (really expensive) software and do it that way.

Contrary to popular belief, some of us just want to learn (a) if the thing we want to do is possible; and (b) how to do it.  If you're reading a question and don't know the answer, then DON'T ANSWER.  No need to be a jerk about it.
