How do I change the color of Strikethrough without changing the color of the text?

I beg to differ. I dont understand how this need is not realized by microsoft.  . Microsoft word is a documenting tool. People could use the word document to various applications. Say we are writing a user manual of a software , which gives instructions, how to code something and write and wrong way to do it. If I want to show how certain things should not be done, then the illustration is best done in strike through. It makes sense to just retain the same color font like the rest of them and just put a strike through with different color. 

In a TODO List , I need to see what was done , so I like to have the font same color as the rest of the items and then strike through in red to show what was completed . 

In a advertising promotional flyer, we can type out all the problems someone face without a product and show in strike through mark in different color how the product can offer solution and help taking care of the issues, which can be shown in strike through . 

We write solution documents to issues. With different proposed solutions, say 2 out of 5 are not viable, then we do not remove, but show in strike out, so that we know and document how it was considered, but not included in the final approved solution. 

One should not be so shallow in thinking , to flush out the need that is brought forward in this forum. Not every aspect should have been claimed by million users to be implemented. It does not seem to be much to make this change . I would want to vote for this change, if its still not out yet.

Let's give it a rest. I am honestly embarrassed to have this protracted so much thus far.  I changed Chr(151) with Chr(150) and ran it on one word to get exactly the same nasty ó for the strikethrough character!

Sometimes patience lead us to some Ah ha! point. Hope it will.

You might try repairing the Office installation (via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair). You might also try replacing Chr(151) with Chr(150) - an en-dash - or with "-" - an ordinary hyphen.
