How do I change the color of Strikethrough without changing the color of the text?

Hello,

I have Word 2007. I want to achieve red Strikethrough upon normal black text.

I would be grateful to know how to do this, or if, as I suspect, it is not possible, then I would also be interested to know why Microsoft has not provided this quite obviously needed function.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Robert.

Crossing something out electronically is a nonsense; period. That the facility is even made available is a questionable use of resources. If you really want to strikethrough in a colour other than the text colour, you must use fields (see http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/Overbar.htm) to overlay your text with struckthrough spaces, and format the spaces in whatever colour you want.

One should not be so shallow in thinking , to flush out the need that is brought forward in this forum. Not every aspect should have been claimed by million users to be implemented. It does not seem to be much to make this change . I would want to vote for this change, if its still not out yet.

Did you at least try the most recent solution that was proffered (i.e. my macro of January 1, 2017)?

Several people have illustrated that there is a need for a different color of strikethrough. You can contribute by posting a suggestion for Microsoft in the Uservoice forum at http://word.uservoice.com. Or you can vote for an existing suggestion.

Of course, you can also try the macro that Paul Edstein (macropod) posted.
