I had the same problem.
I changed the view from Page View to Normal.
That way the Print Preview doesn't make excel crash.
I have been able to reproduce the problem.
changing the view back to Page View will result in excel crashing when I use Print Preview.
For me this only occurs for specific files.
If Microsoft ever gets to work fixing this, here is some info:
MS Excel 2010 Version 14.0.7128.5000 32bit
Things I have done to the file that might trigger this issue:
Cells outside of the Used Range are hidden
I have set some Cells on the Right of the Used Range to have a border on the right edge.
These will not print.
I see an additional page on the right of the only page I use.
There is nothing on it but the header I put on the page i do use.
Then there are things that I don't think have anything to do with this issue ... but who knows
Data Validation
Macro's that are called by the user and events: Open, BeforeClose, Activate, Deactivate
Conditional Formating
