I am using Office 2010 Professional with Windows 7. The installation was successful and I have no other issues with any Office programs except Excel 2010. Whenever I use the print preview button on the Quick Access Toolbar to check the print preview before printing, or use headers/footers to add these before printing, Excel crashes and forces a restart when I next go to save the document. It may allow me to do up to 3 print previews before I go to save the document and it crashes and attempts to recover the data or just shuts Excel down after a few times.
All other Office program functions work fine and I have checked my printer driver with a Microsoft utility and it reports no issues.
Can anyone help?

This is a Catastrophic BUG.. If you leave yous printer switched ON, the problem goes away.
What is happeneing is Excel is communicating with the printer most likely to find out what the margin settings are; rather than taking them from what the user has set in the excel file.
Millions of People and Corporates leave their printers on 24/7/365 because of this BUG!
This Pumps Millions of Tons of CO2 into the atmosphere!
Microsoft.. You can fix this in a week.. Please Do so!!
Same issue here, using HP C4280, tried installing new HP drivers 3 times, tried everything...crashes ALL THE TIME. I am doing consulting work and billing out my time for well over $100 per hour, and every #@$#%#%@$ time this happens it costs me, big time.
Excel 2007 DOES have the same problem. Has been working fine but for some unknown reason this week has simply decided to crash every time I click print preview. It doesn't matter which printer I try (tried all of the above), installed, reinstalled tried every version of excel to save files as...

Hi -
Belated response, I know, but after a client had this same experience with an Officejet 7500, i created a new printer on the same port with the HP PCL5 universal print driver, made it the default printer, and I can no longer reproduce the problem. Switching back to the OJ7500 as the default, I can crash Excel at will.
Looks like less a Microsoft problem than an HP problem, from my perspective.
