Excel 2010 crashes when using print preview button and adding headers/footers

I am using Office 2010 Professional with Windows 7.  The installation was successful and I have no other issues with any Office programs except Excel 2010.  Whenever I use the print preview button on the Quick Access Toolbar to check the print preview before printing, or use headers/footers to add these before printing, Excel crashes and forces a restart when I next go to save the document.  It may allow me to do up to 3 print previews before I go to save the document and it crashes and attempts to recover the data or just shuts Excel down after a few times.

All other Office program functions work fine and I have checked my printer driver with a Microsoft utility and it reports no issues.

Can anyone help?

    I have heard from Microsoft that they unfortunately cannot fix the problem from their end until Office 2010 Service Pack 2; the fix would apparently be too high risk to do as a hotfix.  Given that SP1 has not yet been released, this will obviously be many months away. 

    The only workaround for those affected would seem to be the use of a different printer driver (e.g. a PDF writer) while setting up headers and footers and previewing the results.  I think there is no problem printing a previously set up sheet using the HP printer driver.

    I am trying to get a KB article written on the subject, to improve the awareness of the problem, especially within Microsoft's support department.

    Many of us use XL2010 without printing problems so it is not necessarily Excel that is at fault. One trick I have heard of to solve printing problems is to get rid of temporary files: Start: All Programs: Accessories: System Tools: Disk CleanUp

    I don't think I ever said that HP was the issue.  The issue is that Excel 2010 crashes.  It seems to be related to interfacing with particular printer drivers; whether the problem is in Excel's printer interface or in the printer driver itself none of us can tell.  Microsoft are working on a solution which will be released when it is known to be reliable.  I will continue to press for information on progress and post here when I get some news.

    I note that Microsoft today joined an antitrust complaint against Google in Brussels.  Why don't they compete in the arena of software (Excel 2010) that works instead of focusing on attackig their competitors?

    When will Microsoft acknowledge that their Office Excel 2010 ACTUALLY has a flaw with printing & print preview which was not present in prior products, and promptly fix their problem?

    Or has hubris replaced customer service and is history repeating itself?
