I am testing Excel 2010 on a few Windows 7 pc. 2 of them somethings get the following error after saving a file. Click ok and then it appears after 10 seconds. It just keep going on until I kill the excel process. Please assist.

You could try choosing File, Options, Advanced, and under General check Ignore other applications that use DDE.

I am getting this same message but through a word file. In the word file I have an excel table embedded. When I try to edit the excel table, I continue to get this message with no avail. I have gone into Excel and checked to Ignore other applications that use DDE. Any other suggestions?
Service pack 1 finally came out last week. Did you try that? If you do try it, please let me know if you still have trouble after the installation of office 2010 service pack 1. i have a couple people here who get that error.
Service pack 1 does not fix the issue. I installed upon release and I just got this error today.
I got the error after running an export query in Access, & then opening up Excel. It turns out my problem was that the export query was still running, but the next line in the script ran anyway. So, when you open up the Excel table in Word, is anything else hitting it? Is it a simple Excel worksheet, or does it access other data?
You may want to substitute the Excel table with another simpler one- to see if the fault is with Excel, or Word.
Didn't fix it for us either. I'm really at a loss here. Don't know what else to try. If i find anything, I'll make sure to post it.
