I am testing Excel 2010 on a few Windows 7 pc. 2 of them somethings get the following error after saving a file. Click ok and then it appears after 10 seconds. It just keep going on until I kill the excel process. Please assist.

You could try choosing File, Options, Advanced, and under General check Ignore other applications that use DDE.

Hi Phil,
I tried your suggestion and I deleted EXCEL.EXE because that was the only .exe file in my task manager. After doing that, the OLE message is no longer appearing but I cannot open my files that I had saved in Onedrive. I tried moving them to my computer and reopening but I get the same message, "There was a problem sending the command to the program".
I can now open Excel (without the OLE message appearing) but now I cannot access any of my previous files. What have I done?! And how do I reverse it?

Sounds crazy but in my case all issues with Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) with OLE were gone when stopping the print spooler.
So perhaps there's a printer driver or software that's faulting in combination with Office. (including softprinters like PDFcreate, PDFcreator etc. )
I tried a few people's suggestions with no success, but this was perfect! For me the error was due to Adobe being open in the background. I wish I could put this at the top because if Adobe is your issue, then this is the fix!! Thanks, Sir!!
