I am testing Excel 2010 on a few Windows 7 pc. 2 of them somethings get the following error after saving a file. Click ok and then it appears after 10 seconds. It just keep going on until I kill the excel process. Please assist.

You could try choosing File, Options, Advanced, and under General check Ignore other applications that use DDE.

@ Shane Devenshire - The problem I find with this solution is - We cannot drill through Excel to open a file, we have to go to the location of an Excel File to open it.
I have a few people our group that have the very same issue. We have been using Office 2007 for a while and upgraded to Office 2010. Office 2007 worked fine. Now we are trying to make new templates for the upcoming year but keep getting that same error and then the system lockes up. What really stinks is that we are in a Citrix enviornment so when their system locks up I have to kick them out which kills their open session and any open files. Nobody like that trust me. Anyway has anyone figured out a solution other than rolling back to office 2007?
I have tried everything you all said and still got the annoying message. Do somebody have another options? I need this to be fix soon, I used excel all the time.
Hi I've been putting up with this for ages. My experience is very consistent - Open Excel, I go to open a spread sheet and it locks up part way through and if I wait long enough I get this OLE error message. I have found that if I open excel then click save or save as, dont actually save anything and cancel, back in normal screen, I can open file without issue.
As long as I remember to do this I get no trouble- annoyiong but better than the error.

I just tried your suggestion and it didn't work. Were you able to save after canceling it for the first time ? It's so annoying.
