Getting the error: Microsoft Access can't find the wizard. etc...

Occurs when: Using the Import from Excel feature

I have checked the Add/Remove Features and Access is completely installed, not sure what is missing?

Microsoft 365 and Office | Access | For home | Windows

    Hi

    I am having the same issue as Mat above.

    This was working fine yesterday and today it is not.

    I too have tried all the suggestions in this forum to no avail.

    SP1 for Office 64 bit was installed yesterday.

    Hello Gina,

    I know this thread is old now but my version of Access has just developwed this problem.

    This thread tangents off into outlook later by the sound of it, my issue is with the import of external data from Excel to Access - I am getting the error messages:-

    1)The database cannot be opened because the VBA project contained in it cannot be read. The database can be opened only if the VBA project is first deleted. Deleting the VBA project removes all code from modules, forms and reports. You should back up your database before attempting to open the database and delete the VBA project

    1. **Microsoft Office Access can't find the wizard. This wizard has not been installed, or there is an incorrect setting in the Windows Registry, or this wizard has been disabled.**To reenable this wizard, click the Microsoft Office Button, and click Access Options. Click Add-Ins, and then in the Manage list, click Disabled Items, and then click Go. Rerun Microsoft Office Access or Microsoft Office Setup program to reinstall the wizards. If the missing wizard is not a Microsoft Office Access wizard, reinstall it using the Add-in Manager.

    Apparently this is an issue MS have been made aware of in the past.

    Earlier this week and since the installation of Office 2010 over a year ago this problem hasn't been apparent, the only change that has happened to my standalone PC is 'Updates' which have occurred this week automatically.  I imported a number of excel datasheets into this access db file on Monday this week (21st Nov 2011).

    I am unable to find a solution which works, I have currently tried:-

    • Repair Access install
    • MS Office
    • rename extensions of wizards in ACCWIZ folder & Repaired MSOffice
    • renamed VBA7 folder & Repaired MSOffice

    Do you have a deffinitave fix for this problem, it looks like whatever this week\s update was has caused the issue????

    Hi,

    The .pst Name property should have atleast 16 characters.

    In Outlook File- Info- Account-Settings - Account Settings- Data Files- Select the pst file and click Settings - change the Name: to atleast 16 characters- Apply - Ok.
