Centering the page in center of your monitor

For what another opinion is worth, I feel that you are the aggressor here.  Then of couse, like sanwin, I haven't seen the alleged deleted post(s).  

You do seem to exhibit an extreme intolerance for Graham.  Could that be construed as bigotry?

I have asked the moderator Steven to be specific and let us all know just which party has crossed the line.

I had a problem once with a couple of MVPs.  I tried to contact Bill Gates without any luck.  There was another guy, Balmer I think, who would never return a phone call.  I finally corresponded with someone pretty low in the corporate heirarchy but nothing was ever done and I gave up.

With a similar setup (but resolution of 1366x768 on a smaller laptop screen), I can get a single page centered on the screen if I click the percentage next to the Zoom slider to open the Zoom dialog and choose Whole Page. In Word 2007, on a 1280x1024 screen, I get the same result. With "Whole Page" selected, the page is centered at the same percentage at which it would be left aligned if I just used the Zoom slider or changed the percentage manually.

I don't suppose this is really what you want; in either situation, there is a critical point at which the page will slip to the left, and zooming in will eventually restore it, or you can choose Whole Page again to get a full page in view in the center, but there doesn't seem to be a way to lock it in the center.

I see different behavior in Word 2003 on a conventional 4x3 monitor--can't test this on a widescreen because I have only Word 2010 installed on the laptop.

Thanks for your continued helpfulness. I followed your steps and achieved the same results. As you noted, it is not quite what I wanted, but hopefully your process might yield better results in a different version of word. What sort of behavioral difference did you see in a 4:3 monitor in Word 2003? (I didn't quite understand your last statement.)

As I post via the bridge and not through the forum itself, I had not seen that one of my messages had been removed - not by me, I hasten to add, as I stand by that comment.

The comment was removed by moderators as a response to your unreasonable foot stamping when the answer posted did not agree with what you wanted to hear. There was nothing 'aggressive', 'embarrassing' or 'unbecoming' about the comment. It was a simple statement of fact.

I provided an accurate answer to your question five days ago and it has been confirmed by fellow MVPs, but still you labour the point. I see no reason whatsoever to confirm it once again.

So if it makes you feel better reporting people who disagree with your view of things, then knock yourself out.

People like you make it really worthwhile providing my time to help others. :(

Can you confirm that 2000, 98, and 97 behave this way? What about even earlier versions of word? (Which, while I am not willing to use, would fall under your "always" claim.) Frankly, I believe you to be an embarrassment to this board - especially consider the helpfulness of the other MVPs - and I will be contacting whoever I can to report you. I only asked if others could verify your statement before you made snide remarks and began to attack me. I hadn't even said you were wrong at that point. If being skeptical of a blanket claim can set you off, I wonder how many others have been at the receiving end of your forum aggression. I'm through dealing with you; I will just point the appropriate others your way in the future so that they may deal with you.

@ sanwin.  Perhaps you missed that part of this thread has been deleted (Graham's post between my monday and tuesday posts is gone). Either Graham self-removed it because he knew that its contents were embarrassing and unbecoming, or a mod did it. You haven't seen the full conversation.
