How do I center a page in the center of my monitor? I go to view > 1 page, but if I do that, although the page is centered, as soon as I zoom in, the entire page is set off to the left, as if it were in a 2 page view. I want to fix my view at one page, centered in the middle of my screen, with any zoom level I like.

I have to go out and can't check this properly at the moment (and the behaviour seems a little odd at first glance) but there is a setting in VBA - Zoom.PageColumns - that (partially) controls what you want. I will dig a little further on my return.
Thanks for the helpful responses. It's unfortunate that there is no workaround for this in 2010. I've suggested that Microsoft fix this issue via their suggestion service.
I have nearly every version of word going back the mid 90s (still have a copy of word 97 around here somewhere), and since this issue is one that concerns ergonomics and thus health for me, I would be willing to downgrade (maybe severely) under certain circumstances, or possibly run two copies of word. I haven't tried installing any other copy yet, but it's good to know that 03/07 are out (thanks Jay). If anyone has older copies around and installed, I would appreciate it if you could verify whether this functionality is present. (I figure that MS would have not included this functionality when the only monitor resolutions widely used were less than 1024x768.) Until then, I will try using some alternative programs for my basic word processing needs (unfortunately).

I've never encountered an MVP that issues blanket statements like you, and then takes jab at someone when they disagree. Really unprofessional.

Why not report everybody else who has joined in in telling YOU it is YOU who are wrong.
You should also note that Graham - like all MVPs is a volunteer not a professional.
