How can I remove the blank page after section break?

Don't want blank page between different sections in draft document ("next page" section breaks). Tried hiding and tried changing paragraph symbol font size to 1. Still getting blank page. UGH!

Under certain circumstances, the section break, or actually the blank paragraph containing the section break, may cause an extra page (this might happen below a table, for example). Formatting it as 1 pt font size, exact line spacing 1 pt, zero spacing before/after should fix it. You may also want to format it as hidden text. In fact, you can create a paragraph style with those characteristics and apply it to the empty paragraph in question.

    The blank page after new section is a result of page setup. The default for new section is that it always start on EVEN PAGE.

    Actually, the type of section break that you added determines the type of section. If you want the new section to start within the page, use the "Continuous" type of break.

    However, there are circumstances when Word, or really the printer driver, may force a certain type of break. For example, sometimes when you change the orientation, a Next Page section will be converted to an Odd Page section. You can then try changing the type of section in the Page Setup dialog box.

    The blank page after new section is a result of page setup. The default for new section is that it always start on EVEN PAGE.

    To solve this problem:

    1. Click in the section after that blank page
    2. >page setup >>Layout
    3. Under the topic "Section"
    4. Change the "Section Start"

    The 4th step is tricky though. You have to change the value to meet with your document. For example, I want my new section to start on page 3, but the program left my 3rd page blank (so it can begin the new section at the even page, which is page 4). So I have to change "Section Start" to be "Odd Page" so that the program will put my new section on page 3. And so that I won't have any blank page before my new section.
