Hiya.
So I keep getting the above message only on my Microsoft WORD Document. When I open the Document everything is locked - I cannot click anywhere.
Initially I thought it was beacuse I was using the trail version, so I installed a full version of Office Home and Student 2007 (My sister lend me her disk, it had 2 download licenses remaining, so I used one). Everything else: Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote is working fine. But the WORD document is still locked.
I would really appriciate your help.

Hi. I cracked it, and thought i would share it with you.
All I had to do was to close the document, write click on properties > Advance and uncheck 'File is ready for archiving' and 'Allow this document to have file indexed in addition to ....' > click on ok and it worked.

I have Microsoft Office 2007. I installed one of the disks and used it to type. I have been using it for about a month and now it wont let me type. on all documents. when I open it and press a letter it says 'this modification is not allowed because the selection is locked'. I tried it on new and multiple documents, it doesn't let me for any of them. what should I do? how do I fix it?
With a thread as long as this one, it would be better if you started a new thread with your question, and explain exactly what the problem is. Also make sure that you indicate the version of Office and of Windows that you are using. Also, whether it happens with all documents, or just a particular document.
