Hiya.

So I keep getting the above message only on my Microsoft WORD Document. When I open the Document everything is locked - I cannot click anywhere.

Initially I thought it was beacuse I was using the trail version, so I installed a full version of Office Home and Student 2007 (My sister lend me her disk, it had 2 download licenses remaining, so I used one). Everything else: Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote is working fine. But the WORD document is still locked.

I would really appriciate your help.

Hi. I cracked it, and thought i would share it with you.

All I had to do was to close the document, write click on properties > Advance and uncheck 'File is ready for archiving' and 'Allow this document to have file indexed in addition to ....' > click on ok and it worked.

    Try calling the number that is given to allow activation over the phone.  Of course, depending upon exactly how many computers you have it installed, and the particular Office suite that you have, you may well be in breach of the End User License Agreement.  The End User License Agreement will state on how many computers the software can be installed.  To view the End User License Agreement, click on the Office button and then on Word Options and then on Resources and then on the About button and then click on the "View the Microsoft Software License Terms" link.

    no my grandmother bought hte microsoft bundle but the maximum activations have been exceeded. I was still able to use it for the past 3 months but now all of a sudden it doesnt work. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it wont work. So i then installed in on my desktop and it worked but it just wont on my laptop.

    It sounds like you are probably using a trial version of the software that has now expired or you have not activated your copy of the software?

    i got a brand new laptop and my grandmother has the microsoft discs granted it cant be connected to the internet because there were to many downloads but i should still be able to use the microsoft word 2007. I had it open one day and closed it and then i tried ot reopen it and it said selection is locked. i uninstalled it adn reinstalle dit adn it still says the same thing. i tried ot fidn the properties button but it wont let me click on anything.
