My data source is an xlsx file and one field (PictureLocation) has the full path name of each jpg file I want to merge into a document. I use this merge function: {INCLUDEPICTURE "MERGEFIELD PictureLocation}"} which works fine except I only get a box with a small red x in upper left-hand corner where the picture should be. I have tried F9, but to no avail. What am I doing wrong or what have I set incorrectly? I use VISTA and OFFICE 2007. dottybee

What is in the PictureLocation field?
The filepath separators need to be duplicated \ or you need to use / as a separator.
I don't know what you're referring to, but I think all the answers have been provided numerous times already.
So going back to my question re: 2 - this is where my problem lies. What does your sentence mean?
Give me the step by step, key stroke version or something so we can bring this a successful conclusion.
Ok - so I think I have that part down - ctrl f9 and insert merge field. Been there. Done that.
It must be where I'm placing my cursor and starting out that is the problem.
Anywhere you see a pair of braces you have to insert them with Ctrl+F9, but you should be able to insert the merge field using the Insert Merge Field button (wherever it is).
