Mouse right click no longer working in excel

In any spreadsheet now the right click no longer opens the menu.  I can't copy and paste, edit or anything else.  The mouse works in word and other applications, and in fact works in the header or menus of excel.  But if I got to a cell, it will not open upon right click.

Try this:

From your worksheet, press Alt + F11.   careful, that's ALT + F11

Next press Ctrl+G

Type in (or copy here and paste)

Application.CommandBars("Cell").Reset

Then press the Enter key.

Press Alt+Q to return to the worksheet.

Click your right mouse button on any worksheet cell.   Does your right click menu appear now?

I think the sheet may be password protected.

Check in sample new file, if it happens the same.

    Essbase setting was also my problem.  Thank you Ralph Carter.  I was about to lose it!

    It works for cells but I'm now having trouble with the tabs.  When I right mouse click on the tabs of each workbook I don't get a menu anymore.

    Is there a command for that?

    It works! Awesome!

    > Try this:

    > Open excel

    > hit alt-f11 to get to the VBE

    > hit ctrl-g to see the immediate window
