I have heard, but cannot confirm, that some people with this problem have found that altering the zoom level (slider in lower right corner of Excel window) gets the multiple seelction to go away

best wishes

It seemed to start happening when I applied filtering to the list and view in in page layout view.  I am using 2010 version as well.

I have it at 110 percent and have the issue.  It does seem like the problem temporarily goes away after the zoom is adjusted but it then comes back.

same again T 61 vista  excel 2007   happening on the touch pad.  very simple spreadsheet obviously a bug.  really! that anyone would imagine not and if it is hardware it isnt the mouse eventhough i have the logitec too,  i am not using it now.

i have never seen it before either- most experience has been with dell at work. (xp and now office 2010)  not very experienced with my own computer..  but really arent we supposed to be able to just "use" a computer.  iam going to be sad i ever tried to get into it after all this time.

very annoying.  really makes me wonder aobut MS and IBM.  shlould a gotta Mac?
