I am using excel 2007, on occasion when i try to select any one cell it will highlight and select multiple cells. Once this occurs it happens with every cell I click on.

I have heard, but cannot confirm, that some people with this problem have found that altering the zoom level (slider in lower right corner of Excel window) gets the multiple seelction to go away

somewhere in this thread I explained exactly how to recreate this problem. If you understand why/when it happens, it becomes clear why adjusting the zoom "fixes" the issue. This issue is not present in Office 2016. I can't remember if it was fixed in Office 2013, but regardless, it has been fixed, and if you understand why it happens it's easy to avoid if you're using old Office software.

Really? Can this problem disappear, rather than having a work around of jiggling the zoom slider?
Great answer. I adjusted a tiny fraction and stopped having multiple rows selected.
Ok, I fixed mine by going off 110% Zoom. When my Zoom is set at 110% it selects two cells. I tried multiple other Zoom conditions and it worked (selected one cell) every time except at 110%. Whomever, told me to try the zoom/magnification level -THANKS!
