I am using excel 2007, on occasion when i try to select any one cell it will highlight and select multiple cells. Once this occurs it happens with every cell I click on.

I have heard, but cannot confirm, that some people with this problem have found that altering the zoom level (slider in lower right corner of Excel window) gets the multiple seelction to go away

Again, to be clear, only happens to me when in Page Layout view at 110% zoom. Maybe zoom level could be different on other people's computers depending on the monitor size? Does it have something to do with the video driver?
Just trying to add information for troubleshooting purposes. Could it be a feature of Excel 2007 that we may not know about, like selecting cells with similar formatting or something? Even if it is not a "bug" that needs to be fixed, help is appreciated
- and then maybe it could be added the Excel Help online or something.

In reply to Sue's message above, I seem to have found the solution, in my Excel 2007. The problem occurred on my machine when I was using 103% zoom and "Page Layout" view. I changed the Page Layout view to Normal view (in 100%view), and the problem seems to have gone away for now.

Sorry none of those get arounds are a cure, just a get around, there are several but it always comes back once you have it in a sheet or book. You just can't use page layout view to lay out pages!!!!!!!!!!!
MS NEEDS to sort it, it's gone on long enough and through different versions of Excel.
We all need to keep mentioning it on forums like this or it'll never be sorted properly.
I'm on 2010 now and need to do some work with it, dreading it as I know it'll be there at some point and you just can't lay out a page easily if you're not in page layout view, need to keep flicking back and forth.
So please don't refer to a get around as a cure as it's not.
