I want to add a page number in word 2010, but there are  no options of varying page numbers. What it says is just More page numbers from office.com and save selection as page number(in grey). Nornally, wasn't it supposed to show all the pictures of the options listed?

So, I wanted to find More Page Numbers from Office.com, but there were No Online Content Available.

The problem was fixed by making "C:\Users...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1033"unhidden, although I didn’t delete the “Building Blocks.dotx” mentioned inhttp://www.conetrix.com/Blog/post/Fix-Missing-Insert-Page-Numbers-in-Word-2007.aspx.

But why aren't there more Page Numbers from Office.com?

Anyways, thanks for all the help.

    You can also insert a PAGE field in any location by pressing Alt+Shift+P. (I feel like we're going in circles.)

    Did you read the information about adding a PAGE field?

    Edit your header. Press Alt-F9. Is there a PAGE field? If not, go to the spot where you want a page number and press Alt-Shift-8 or press Ctrl-F9 giving you braces. Type Page between the braces and press the F9 key.

    I have an even weirder problem.  Page number just don't work in my 2010 Word installation.  I can insert them (I, too, only have that one option and I've deleted the file mentioned and it didn't change), but whether my document is 1 page or 1000, every page number stays at 1.  I've tried tricking it by changing the page options to "different first page," "different odd and even," etc. but if I put in a different number on page 2 (i.e. physically type in "2" instead of having that populated automatically since it won't), then all the even pages are page 2, and all the odd are page 3 or whatever I've typed in there.  Nothing I do will change it -- same in the header or footer.  Just one page number, not numbering.  What can I do?  I'm having to use a laptop with an older version of Word to put my page numbers in, store the doc on the server, then come back to work with it on my new "whiz-bang" fast computer with 2010 everything.  HELP!

    In Word 2010 the file is Built-In Building Blocks.dotx.
