I want to add a page number in word 2010, but there are  no options of varying page numbers. What it says is just More page numbers from office.com and save selection as page number(in grey). Nornally, wasn't it supposed to show all the pictures of the options listed?

So, I wanted to find More Page Numbers from Office.com, but there were No Online Content Available.

The problem was fixed by making "C:\Users...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1033"unhidden, although I didn’t delete the “Building Blocks.dotx” mentioned inhttp://www.conetrix.com/Blog/post/Fix-Missing-Insert-Page-Numbers-in-Word-2007.aspx.

But why aren't there more Page Numbers from Office.com?

Anyways, thanks for all the help.

    I'm trying to deal with exactly this problem of page numbers (Windows 7) but can't find "C:\Users...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1033" to do the unhiding. I get as far as ...\Microsoft\ but there's no Document Building Blocks after that. Any tips? I'm busy preparing a big multi-section report and page numbers would be good! Big thanks.

    I have a new twist on this. I get how I can delete the BuildingBlocks.dotx in order to force it to recreate and update itself and that has worked well for me. I have a new client who has accidentally deleted key page number blocks via the Organizer AND created a whole slew of her own custom blocks. I want to refresh/recreate her template so what should be there is back, but how do I back-up or export her custom entries before I do that? And then how would I re-import them once the BuildingBlocks.dotx is repaired? TIA.

    1. Unhide the 1033 folder
    2. open the 1033 folder
    3. open the 14 folder
    4. delete file: ~$ilt-In Building Blocks.

    I don't know what this file is, but was no good for me. After deleting the file all of my page number options and header/footer problems were solved.

    Note: ~$ilt-In Building Blocks is a hidden file not available untill the 1033  folder is unhidden

    Thanks... I didn't get what you meant at first. But then I got it. Go to My Computer, C drive etc... Appreciate the help! MS should be a lot simpler than this...
