I want to add a page number in word 2010, but there are  no options of varying page numbers. What it says is just More page numbers from office.com and save selection as page number(in grey). Nornally, wasn't it supposed to show all the pictures of the options listed?

So, I wanted to find More Page Numbers from Office.com, but there were No Online Content Available.

The problem was fixed by making "C:\Users...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks\1033"unhidden, although I didn’t delete the “Building Blocks.dotx” mentioned inhttp://www.conetrix.com/Blog/post/Fix-Missing-Insert-Page-Numbers-in-Word-2007.aspx.

But why aren't there more Page Numbers from Office.com?

Anyways, thanks for all the help.

    If you click on the Page Number item in the Header & Footer section of the Insert tab of the Ribbon and then hover the cursor over the Bottom of Page item, a dialog box will appear with a vertical scroll bar with the first entries being Simple - Plain Number 1, Plain Number 2, Plain Number 3 (being for inserting just a page number without any extra formatting features at the left, centre and right hand side of the Footer respectively) and as you use the vertical scroll bar in the dialog, there will be other page number arrangements appear that you can use by selecting the one that you want.

    The only place that I see the Enable Content Updates from Office.com is if I click on the Header or Footer items in that Section of the Ribbon.

    Yes. I see Format Page Numbers and Remove Page Numbers, too (under a dotted line). BUT, when I click on them, I see only "More Page Numbers from Office.com" and "Save Selection to Page Number Gallery".

    And, what I recognize newly now is that there aren't Headers and Footers when I click on the buttons.

    So, (back to the Page Numbers) what I found on the web (http://www.mswordhelp.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/insert-page-numbers001.png) is the screenshot of when someone clicked Page Number>Bottom of Page, was "Simple" and then "Plain Number 1" and "Plain Number 2" and so on. But, I don't see none of those. There are no pictures of the choices and there are no Simple, Plain Number 1 ... Page X, Accent Bar 1 etc. etc..

    Also, with the Headers and the Footers, (http://tothepc.com/img/2010/03/add-footer.gif) I don't see any picturesand the name of each choices.

    Almost same result from both Page Numbers and the Headers and the Footers.

    Again, I can send you a screenshot of what happens to Word 2010 on my laptop if I have an oppertunity.

    When you click on the Insert Page Number menu, don't you get Top of Page, Bottom of Page, etc., and Current Position?
