I'm using Office 2007 on Windows 7 Professional.
This drives me crazy, and right now it's blocking other text I need to edit. When I move text around, using the right-click cut and paste menu, after pasting the paste options popup shows, and it won't go away, even if I choose a paste option. How do I make the stupid thing disappear after I'm done with it?

No, esc doesn't get rid of it. If you do a Save, the icon is stuck on the screen! How would I find this topic in Word for Mac section? Not that it would help me, but I could at least explain what's happening to others who have the same problem.
Have you tried the ESC key?
I have no means to test Word for Mac myself. Note that you can post specifically in the Word for Mac section of this forum.
Sounds like Microsoft hasn't properly finished developing the Mac version - as usual!!
Note that clearing the option you mention disables the Paste Options button, which isn't necessarily something that everybody wants to do.
Pressing ESC, or continue typing, is a simpler solution.
