How do I make the "Paste Options" popup go away after pasting text?

I'm using Office 2007 on Windows 7 Professional.

This drives me crazy, and right now it's blocking other text I need to edit.  When I move text around, using the right-click cut and paste menu, after pasting the paste options popup shows, and it won't go away, even if I choose a paste option.  How do I make the stupid thing disappear after I'm done with it?

    May I suggest to anyone annoyed by 'bumping' postings on this thread , don't read them.

    This thread is old and there hasn't been a reply for months. Nobody is going to see what you had to add at the bottom of the fourth page. In an actual forum, this thread would have been locked years ago for this reason. There's no need to reply any more.

    True, especially if you are typing in a location where space is limited, such as a table cell.

    1 Press the Esc button &

    1. click File tab | Options | Advanced, where you'll find "Show Paste Options button when content is pasted." [and untick the box.]

    I hope I've stopped this annoyance reoccurring by choosing option 2.  Option 1 also works but required the work around on every occasion.

    Regarding option #1, note that you don't have to press ESC. If you just continue typing, the Paste Options button will (eventually) disappear by itself.
