How do I make the "Paste Options" popup go away after pasting text?

I'm using Office 2007 on Windows 7 Professional.

This drives me crazy, and right now it's blocking other text I need to edit.  When I move text around, using the right-click cut and paste menu, after pasting the paste options popup shows, and it won't go away, even if I choose a paste option.  How do I make the stupid thing disappear after I'm done with it?

    I get rid of it by hitting Enter with the cursor somewhere close to the Paste Option. It'll move your text around, and then you'll have to correct it. Why they created this nuisance I wish someone would tell me.

    The Escape key doesn't always work, but if it doesn't, try copying something else on your page. You don't have to paste it. As soon as you hit "Ctrl + C", the Paste Options box disappears. This works for me on Office 2010/Windows 7.

    This makes the annoying little menu go away, it also clears the clipboard, so you can't paste to another cell without recopying the source material.
